Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Uxbridge
Man with Van Uxbridge is committed to conducting its business ethically, transparently, and in full compliance with applicable laws on modern slavery and human trafficking. This statement sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
We operate a strict zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. This applies to every aspect of our business, including all employees, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers involved in our removals, transportation, and associated services.
No form of forced, bonded, or involuntary labour is accepted or tolerated. We are committed to respecting human rights, providing fair working conditions, and ensuring that all individuals who work with or for Man with Van Uxbridge do so voluntarily and are treated with dignity and respect.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Man with Van Uxbridge provides man and van, removals, and transport services in and around Uxbridge and the wider region. Our supply chain includes vehicle leasing and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packaging suppliers, and occasional use of subcontracted drivers and labour.
We recognise that certain areas of the transport and logistics sector may present a higher risk of labour exploitation. We therefore apply enhanced scrutiny to those parts of our supply chain to identify and mitigate any such risks.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect all suppliers and subcontractors to share our commitment to preventing modern slavery. As a condition of working with Man with Van Uxbridge, suppliers are required to comply with all relevant modern slavery and human rights legislation and to maintain fair and transparent employment practices.
We conduct proportionate due diligence on new suppliers, focusing on their employment practices, use of subcontracted labour, and compliance with labour laws. Where appropriate, we request written confirmation of their own anti-slavery policies and procedures.
We reserve the right to carry out audits of suppliers where we identify a potential risk. Audits may include review of employment records, right-to-work documentation, working hours, and pay practices, as well as discussions with management. If a supplier is unwilling to cooperate or fails to meet our standards, we will consider corrective action up to and including termination of the business relationship.
Employee Awareness, Conduct, and Training
All staff, including managers, are expected to act with integrity and to uphold our zero-tolerance approach. We communicate our expectations through internal policies, codes of conduct, and ongoing guidance, making clear that any involvement in modern slavery is strictly prohibited.
Where relevant to their role, employees receive information and guidance on recognising potential signs of exploitation, such as workers who appear under control of others, are fearful or intimidated, or lack personal identification documents. Managers are instructed to escalate any concerns immediately.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Man with Van Uxbridge encourages anyone with concerns about modern slavery or unethical labour practices connected to our business to speak up. Concerns can be raised with a line manager or senior member of staff. We will treat all reports seriously and investigate them promptly and sensitively.
No person who raises a concern in good faith will suffer any form of retaliation or detrimental treatment. Where appropriate, we will report suspected criminal activity to the relevant authorities and cooperate fully with any official investigation.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. We are committed to strengthening our controls and improving our understanding of potential risks in our sector and supply chains.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least annually by the management of Man with Van Uxbridge to assess its effectiveness and to identify areas for improvement. The review will consider any reported incidents, outcomes of supplier audits, changes in legislation, and evolving best practice. Where necessary, we will update our policies, procedures, and training to ensure that our approach remains robust and fit for purpose.
This statement reflects the position of Man with Van Uxbridge at the time of publication and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our business.
